CONGRATULATIONS FOR Apparently STN/IDI Officer Marion Mackay, has for some considerable time advocated for a community news-sheet to be produced along the lines, and making use of the facility employed by the `old' sheet AT Joss Street Hall. However nothing was getting done so in a flash of inspiration Chairman Donald MacKenzie and Secretary/Treasurer Jaki Gardner, decided to canvass the community council members and produce a news-sheet totally dedicated to the Invergordon Community Council. As far as I can tell there was not one dissenting voice among the C.C. members and so within 48 hours the sheet was formatted and made ready for printing. At this stage apparently one member of the C.C. agreed to pay for the first issue's printing. The next day Tuesday, the news-sheet was printed at the Ross-shire Voluntary Action office, Thorfin House, Dingwall. Webmaster Andy Blackall, agreed to design and manage the new C.C. Website www.invergordoncc.thehighlands.co.uk The site will soon be `on stream' containing the whole of the Journal on a monthly basis plus a guest book, photos and much much more. Truly showing what initiative can do when applied by progressive thinking and dedication. Ed. |
