NEXT LETTERS

Next, letters were sent to Maitland Hyslop, RACE and Maxine Smith, Chairperson of the Invergordon Business Association (IBA) despite being a Secret Organisation, Ms Smith refuses to provide copy of their constitution, member list or annual accounts, I doubt very much if any member of the IBA is capable of stooping so low and using , possibly the guise of a battered child to vent their spite on the ‘Highlander’ or on the voluntary members of the Invergordon Community Council. The IBA Chairperson provided a lengthy response, extracts are reproduced as follows;

Euilleam,
As I told you before I SIGN everything I submit to anywhere. I don't fear reprisals. I don't speak with forked tongue...people will always know where they stand with me, whether it be Donnie, John or you!

I think the "wee Donnie" thing is a bit below the belt, although shocked and horrified, I did have a rile smile later to think that your website was LIVE hence uncontrollable, as you are always advocating free speech and the tables are kinda turned!

Its nothing to do with Maitland I can tell you now, its not his style I recognise and he would not be bothered with that kind of childish behaviour....(just saying that cos I see you emailed him)!

Once I submitted my piece I studied your website closer and also since...as I do fancy myself as a bit of a detective and psycho-analyst I do recognise several of the styles on the Guess Book and its up to you, John or Donnie to do the same. I would never reveal my suppositions to anyone a) in case I was wrong and b) perhaps I may not entirely disagree with all of them.

I have to say though I have heard many dissenting voices to the petition on Bermuda Road and both from the Residents Association there and the rest of Invergordon so I think putting that on the front page of the North Star was not the best thing that could have happened for the town.

Maxine Smith
